Default Help letting me know this???

I had a friend fix my ball joints... when I got the truck back, these wires were cut on the driver side tire.... I also noticed that the ABS light stayed on... I disconnected the positive battery terminal while I fixed these wires... when I reattached the battery terminal and started the vehicle, the ABS light was still on.. can anyone tell me what this piece does??
Thank you for the help..

That is the speed sensor for that wheel. The sensor output must be >250mV-AC when you spin the wheel. The sensor may be damaged beyond the wiring. Also, ditch those crimp connectors if you ever hope to have the connections last. Solder the connections & seal with heat shrink tubing (I prefer the 3M tubing with adhesive on the inside).

Default I thought so....

After I seen the light was still on, I thought that this was the speed sensor... TY for verifying.. I'm going to change the rotors and pads in a few... I will fix this better then... Thanks again...
Can U let me know where the ABS sensors are?... Thanks

In the hub, at the end of those wires.

The speed sensor that you repaired the wiring for is an ABS sensor.
