Default High output alternator

I recently purchased a high output alternator for my 98 blazer. The pig tail needs to be directly hooked up to the post on the alternator and to a ignition power source. Any idea what a good ignition power source would be to hook it too? Because right now I have it hooked to the original plug from the factory alternator.
