How to remove Map Light Bulb
#1
I have a 2000 Blazer with a sunroof and a console. I've removed the plastic lense from the map light, but I'm not sure how to remove the bulb from the mount and reflector.
Do you just grab it and pull? Since the car in old and exposed to Texas heat, I'm worried about pulling on plastic parts as they might be brittle.
I tried to do a search, but I haven't been able to find a picture. One post said something about removing a clip, but I don't see it.
I don't even know where to start with the cargo light. I just son't want to start prying until something gives.
I did get the dome light lense and bulb out.

Use a screw driver to pry back one of the contacts at the end of the bulb. shouldn't take much pressure and pull the bulb out.

Is that the console or cargo.
Thanks for the reply

I take it the subject line "Is that the console or cargo" was you asking for clarification.
Cargo: squeeze the lens as if pinching your fingers together and it should come out. Then use the screw driver to pry back the contact.
console/map: I'm not sure how your reflector comes out. The bulb should just pull out. From your picture it looks like you may have enough to slide it out. You could use a pair of needle nose pliers with a little pressure (not to brake the bulb and pull it out.

I was able to get it out
I got the map light bulb out by slipping a small screw driver in there and getting it loose enough to grab with pliers. Then I discovered a better way.
The whole console is easy to remove and then te bulb can be grabbed by the back side.
There is one screw to remove on the front of the short console. Once you do that grab the sides of the back part of the console on either side of the light and pull straight down.
I will post pictures in a couple of weeks once I do the LED conversion.
