Default Ignition switch

I just replaced my ignition switch on my 2002 Blazer. I made sure the gear for the lock cylinder was adjusted the same as the old one before installing the new one. Everything starts up great and runs good, however, the idle is at 500rpms and when I turn the steering wheel to park it pulls the rpms down low enough to stall. I'm stumped! Not sure if maybe I'm off a tooth on the gear or if its something else. I do know that I didn't have this problem before changing the ignition switch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
