Believe this!!

I thought I could get away with using the stock ones. Several hours with a soldering iron and multiple lumps of semi-scorched plastic later, I ordered new sockets (plugs, bases, whatever they're called)

You can go to a junkyard and get the 194 base's out of pretty much any older ford truck. I also picked up the smd led's for the dash on ebay for a couple dollars, came in a pack of 10 and they look pretty good. As far as the hvac lighting I tried pulling on the bulbs but they didn't wana come out easily so I just left them alone and got ones with the twist lock base for only like 50 cents more per bulb. For me the 4x4 (which you don't have), rear wiper and hatch, and the side mirror control were all soldered in place. GL!

Thanks for all of the help! For the dash cluster, door control and hvac, do you suggest the smd or normal led? This is all new to me lol.

The dash lights I got smd and same with the window controls, but the hvac I got the regular one. I'm doin the headlight switch as well and I got a hp neo4 and a 5mm instrument led so I'll see which one works better. Eventually I'll try and figure out what kind of bulb to get for all the soldered illumantions.
Edit: You would need a 4mm led to fit the headlight socket, but I'm just using a neo4 and it's working fine.

Look for bulbs with 5 LED's on it, like this one:

Take this search here and add the colour you want to the search bar. ebay is way cheaper and my LED's work perfect:

I got red ones:

And yes you need 194 base bulbs. I can't help you out on that more than the old ford advice, as my junkyard had a bin full of generic light sockets and whatnot. No fun tearing cars apart for me
