Default Lots of lights and full sound system

Ok so I am doing a full sound system in my Jimmy including a 800watt amp and 2 12" subs. While hooking this up to the battery alone is confusing me. What will happen when I add the lights I want? I want to add 2 fog lights to the bumper and 4 flood lights to the roof rack. Will my rig be able to power all of this with stock alternator and battery???

You will at least want to do 'The big 3' upgrade. I did that and my alt can't keep up with it all, not even close.

A cheap and easy mod to do would be "the big 3 upgrade" combined with the "alternator upgrade." I think it is a ad-244 alternator.

Check this article out for the diy guide for the alt: High Output AD244 alternator upgrade for ~$80

tibby is right the ad244 alt is a beast 124-140 amos depending on what one you get and the big 3 is a important upgrade for this as stock wireing doesnt let it put out to its fullist

Its good to get a more powerful alternator, but a 140 alone wont do it. With everything you are doing the extra 35 is not enough. I'm doing a sound system and lights, and an xbox and with all that a 200 amp is the minimum for me, but it should be perfect for you. There is more to it than most people think with varying opinions on things such as quality of amps, speakers, crossovers, eq's, especially the use of extra batteries and capacitors. Your stock battery wont cut it either. Look at a kinetic, xs power, or at least a yellow top optima. A deep cycle battery, 200 amp (summit racing 350-400 dollars), and 1/0 awg, or straight 0 guage big 3, and sand or grind all the terminal connections to bare metal. They may look better when they are shiny but they cause less conductivity, and stay away from wire that isn't 100% pure oxygen free copper and wire that is not true 0 gauge do the research and you will find that a lot out there that are less than what they claim.

Also if you have never done a sound system, I would suggest finding a friend who has, or a local shop. If you choose a shop make sure they are an ICE installer (in car experts) means they are certified to sell and install almost any brand out there and have a minimum of 2 years of reputable service, and all their installers are MECP certified.

Lastly don't skimp on your amps, and sub box that helps in keeping the power clean.

Any questions shoot me a message.
