No Vin reading

Default No Vin reading

'99 Blazer. 4.3l vortec.

Obd2 port has power. Vehicle runs fine now. Can't get any of my code scanners to read vin or communicate with the modules. Help!!!

Is the ECM original to the vehicle? I don't know if this would would cause the problem itself, but if it wasn't hooked up properly it very possibly could. Might also want to check your grounds, too.

I will check the ground, not sure how to check the ECM for being original or not.

Update: ground is good.
