Default O2 Sensor Issues

I am looking for an electrical diagram or a link to an electrical diagram of a 97 Chevy Blazer 4 door, 4x4, 4.3l.

When I bought my blazer a few months ago, realized that the wires from the 3rd o2 sensor were burned. The one of the 3 wires were actually burned right through. I soldered the wires together, put shirk tube on and wrapped all wires together with heat tape and put it back in and connected everything.

I started the truck and not even 2 minutes later, the truck began smoking from underneath. Got under and saw the wire burned right through the shrink wrap and heat tape. Disconnected the o2 sensor and decided it was time to give in and buy a new one.

Here is my dilemma, I want to make sure before I put the new one in that the electrical connector to the sensor is fine and not going to fry the next sensor.

I should ad to this, the o2 sensor connector was cracked and partially bare, not sure if this has an effect. I want to get a new one in there sooner than later, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
