Question about CB radio and amp

And if I purchase this, just straight wire it to the battery? I still rather have it hooked up to an amp of some sort so that if I do forget to leave it on it doesn't drain the battery seeing as I already have my sub and speaker system hooked up to it.

I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube of people wiring it directly into the fuse box, like into the accessory port. Any thoughts on that?

It plugs into the radio, doesn't wire into the battery. Turns on when you flip the cb to pa and turns off when you flip it to radio.
