Default question from newbie re Power Door Locks

Hi all,

This is my first post outside of the new members forum, so hopefully I got this in the right place and havnt missed a discussion on this already via the search!

I have a 2005 GMC Jimmy 2 door SLS Auto. This is the basic model and has no power windows, locks or keyless entry.

Is it possible to retrofit power locks and keyless entry (with or without remote start) on this car? And if so does anyone have any recommendation on good tech to use?

I hope someone can help, and apologies if i have missed this in my initial search of the site.

many thanks,

T

It's certainly possible. Easiest way would be to find a doner vehicle to pull all the parts from. The Blazers were build very modular, so you can usually bolt any optional item on fairly easily. Find an SLS with the power group, or an SLT with the right color interior at the junk yard and you'll be golden. Might be able to get the power seats and overhead console too.

Thats great, thank you so much for the info! I will start looking for some bits at the junkyard. Im guessing the parts froma second gen jimmy or blazer should work right?

Thanks again for the info

You are looking for a later 2nd gen, 98+. Even an S series truck will work, since you have a 2 door.
