When you say GM door switch, are you referring to the large one in the door that mounts to the door lock part that contacts the door stricker or do you mean the little plunger switches closers to the firewall?
I replaced all the plungers on all 4 doors and that did not solve the issue. I don't remember all the troubleshooting I tried but I am remembering that my last assumption was it was the large swtich in the door near the handle. The part number for this part varied by trim level, as some had power locks and windows, and mine had some sort of alarmt function if I remember right. It was not available when i was looking but it was a couple hundred dollars if it were to be avbailable. I went to a few junk yards and pulled on that looked right, but turned out to be wrong plugs.

If you haven't tried that, and if they are available and hopefully less expensive you may want to give that a shot and if it works let me know too
I meant the plunger switch, just that I was using AC Delco/GM parts since it's really hit or miss quality on everything else. The switches themselves have come down on some of the components depending on if it's the switch itself (about $35 from switchdoctor for the 4 windows and powerlocks) or some other module. I did change the entire door at one point,( he hinges had ovaled out and I found a mint color matching door of a different year and trim level at picknpull, so that might be something else for me to investigate as well. I did just replace the power window switch and was thinking of replacing the worn window switches as well, I do still have the original door in the garage so I'll try to look and see if the power lock mechanism has 2 plugs or 4 on both the original and the one I'm currently using. Mine does have some sort of security built in but some prior owner had installed a removable card that I'd always guessed was some sort of resistor passlock bypass. Truck won't start without that card installed. From a different post I started, it's looking like I may have pinched or pulled a wire when I pulled the dash out so there's a test or 2 I have to run. I was never a believer in the 'cheap' bluetooth OBDII readers ever doing a decent job but I have to admit that my $300 scanner never picked up a BCM codes and the one from Amazon did along with some HVAC codes that will likely rear their heads before much longer as well.

Well, I found the issue in my case, I had only plugged 2 of the 3 BCM connectors back in after changing the heater core I don't know how many years ago. The purple plug must have gotten hung up in the HVAC vents in the center. I could make all sorts of excuses but at the time, I was sick of fighting that dash and it started so I probably called it good. I DID have the BCM flipped over as well and couldn't get the purple plug to reach (after pulling the dash again) and thought the BCM would only go into the holder one way, It'll go in either way if you're tired and cranky enough it seems. After fixing MY error, everything miraculously started working again. D-side door now turns on dome light, turns off radio, Automatic headlights now turn off during the day and as soon as I replace the fog lights (after posting this A-HA! moment for you), I'm pretty sure that they'll start working off the switch as well. It only cleared a few BCM trouble codes but man did it make a lot of things work right that didn't before. I'm betting my parasitic battery drain is gone now too. I'd say it worth a look under the center console to make sure that purple plug is fully seated (you'll only need to remove the two under dash trim pieces on the passenger side, not the whole dash) and/or pull and reinsert it to see if that fixes the door issue. Might be the little victory that spurs you on to finish the rest of it. There's Youtube for all the engine stuff but finding info on the BCM is harder to find than any other thing I've tried to research before so I wanted to give you a little bit of hope to offset my shame at missing an entire plug worth of BCM controls. Good luck!
