Default Remote starter?

I've always wanted to put a remote starter into the Blazer but I can't seem to get any straight answers on what and how to install one. I saw a video with this brand of a starter and I was wondering if anyone else has put this brand into their truck? Have any other brands have been installed? Any help and links would be appreciated

As far as brands go, the Avital brand is part of Directed Electronics, which is a good quality brand.

That being said, installing an alarm/remote starter is not something Id' recommend for the casual DIYer, unless you have solid knowledge of soldering and circuit identification. There are good resources out there, but please stay away from cheap solutions like marr connectors. I used to be an automotive electronics installer in a former life, and I saw TONS of vehicles with weird and random problems caused by these connectors. Even a couple that had burned the wire harness. You're way better off getting it installed by a reputable installer who will warranty their work.

If you do decide to proceed with doing it yourself, do some research on how to properly solder wires and how to safely identify circuits. the12volt.com is a great resource for that, and you can find a vehicle wire identification guide for your vehicle there that will assist you in your project.

I installed one on the 06 Tacoma I use to have. One of the most pain in the *** things I've ever installed electronically, and I like to consider myself to be pretty good when it comes to wiring and such. I'll pay someone to do it next time lol

I had one installed at a local stereo and accessory shop. Been very happy with it, and how trouble-free it has been since day 1. I did look into doing the job myself, but research left me feeling rather intimidated. Cost of the kit and install was not that bad. Worth it IMO, to also have someone else fight any battels encountered. They did have a bit of trouble getting it set up correctly, and I would likely have been lost and cussing like crazy in my driveway had I hit those same stumbling blocks. My kit was a product from Avital.
