remote starter
I bought a 2002 blazer loaded, came with no key fobs,i picked two up on ebay, programed them they work great,on the core support is a dei remote starter decal,i tried different combinations on remotes only get lights to flash,i have no hood pin for valet nor can I find one inside,i believe it to be factory installed since I don`t see any after market parts under hood or dash.if anyone knows the starting procedure i would appreciate it,or what should I be looking for.thanks,Hopalongkev

The dei unit was aftermarket. The factory keyless has no way of triggering the dei unit (unless it was modified the create a ground trigger). Look under the dash for the aftermarket box, or check for a tach wire. Its possible the previous owner took the starter and left the sticker.

I would spend some time under the dash looking for non-factory wiring. GM doesn't leave 6" of tail on a band tie or scorch heat shrink tubing with a lighter. You need to know if there is a remote start connected to anything. They're tied into many circuits and should always be on the list of possible causes whenever a problem comes up. I don't believe remote start was offered by gm. In my 2000 service manual there's no listing for AP3 or AP8 in the rpo codes.
