Sick of fuel pumps
So. I was driving down the road and my fuel pump quit. Had it towed to the dealership and the said bad fuel pump. Fixed. Life is good.
6 month later hard to start when cold. Change spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor and coil. Still hard to start. Take it back to the dealership. They change the fuel pump under warranty. Cool.
Another 6 months. -30°c won't start again. Getting a little grumpy. Hello service writer at dealership!! They change fuel pump, fuel regulator, new battery. Tell me still its hard to start. Keep it for 4 days. Tell me I have bad wiring. Fix it under warranty and just charge me for the battery.
Another darn 6 months...hard to start again and winters coming!! So here I go with my multimeter. Voltage at pump when initially turning key and priming, 11 volts. When running 13 volts. Resistance between ground on pump and frame 1.5 ohms.
What am I ( and the dealership) missing? Other than this issue I love my little truck. Oh yah, they have changed the fuel pump filter every time.
