Solved - Tail & Brake Light Problem
I just want to share to you a simple thing that might happen to you on tail and braking light issue or problem. Recently I got a problem with my tail light which was not working properly. Here are the problem :
1. tail light off
2. third brake light (mounted on the back roof) on and act as tail light
3. No brake light when small or head lamp turn on (could cause rear accident due to people will not see our brake light)
I was asking to dealer to fix it and they suggest to replace all the light including the relay and some cable or circuit - typical dealer solutions ... too expensive !!!!
I decided to open the rear ligth and check all bulb and socket one by one and found the problem on the one of socket. It was no /less contact due to steel plat dirty by burn material (on the black cable). I suspect the material formed due to a gap on the socket steel or high temperature caused some of plastic melted. I was not sure the plastic melt since the socket condition still good.
For temporary I jut clean the steel out from the material and modified to ensure I have a good contact before I got a new socket. I plan to replace both bulb (led type) and socket or replace it with the cristal one someday.
Problem solved and now I got all of them working properly... however I still have a question on why the steel socket not in contact properly ? It was due to the temperature too high or due to inproper installation ?
I am sorry if this is not a correct procedure since I am not a mechanic. your advise or comments is highly appreciated.
Thanks, Suryo
