What are you driving? Do you already have fogs?

I have a 99 zr2 blazer no it didn't have fog lights to start. I just got the switch from the local salvage yard.

The switch is a momentary ground switch and requires programming changes to the BCM to activate the fog light circuitry provided your truck has it already.

You are much better off to put in your own switch and wiring than to mess with the stock stuff.

It doesn't matter if the lights are stock or aftermarket. I used to have my fog light switch control a set of aux lights on my grill guard but ended up putting them on their own independent circuit. You can get an SPST relay and switch for like $6 at radioshack

Like swartlkk said though, the oem fog light switch isn't a standard on/off switch and it would require a change to the BCM if your truck didn't originally come with the fog lights. It might be possible to just swap in a new BCM but I know almost nothing about it (other than some of the quirks **** me off)

BCM's, like PCM's, must be programmed to your truck so they just cannot be swapped.

With some creative wiring you can make the momentary switch work (google "latching relay" or look it up on the12volt.com), but it is by far easier to use a new switch to activate the fogs.

I had the same fog lights idea as you. Even installed the switch panel, but scrapped the idea due to the problems listed above. I found a DIY on ZR2USA on how to do it, but it sure doesn't seem worth the fight.
