Stuck/sticky brake light switch

Stuck/sticky brake light switch
This morning when it was below zero, my girlfriend was taking the jimmy to work, and she said the brake lights stayed on, she had to pull the brake pedal back to get them to turn off.
I noticed when it was below 30 degrees I would hear the switch "click" when pressing the brake like the switch was getting stuck, but it would always turn off because it wasnt super cold.
Would it just be easier to replace the brake light switch, or can I try to clean the one that is in there.
Also, Is it safe to lube the brake lever bracket? If so, what kind of lube should i use. Thanks

Anyone? I am thinking I should just replace it instead of cleaning it.
