Default Turn Signal Blinking Fast

Hey guys, just recently my right turn signal has been blinking fast.
When I use my hazard lights, the right blinks the same speed as the left.

I checked outside my Blazer with the turn signals on and there are no bulbs burnt out or appearing to be dying.

Does it start blinking faster before the lights even burnt out?
If so, should I wait for it to die before changing it, and if not, how do I pinpoint which (rear or front) light it is?

Thanks.

well..never mind.

I suggest double checking that all bulbs are actually flashing at proper brightness.

Then I suggest cycling your emerg flasher sw several times.
_ have you had an instance where you can hear the flasher clicking yet turn signal is off?

The hazard flasher circuit doesn't have a load check on it so it will always blink at the same rate. The same circuit is used for the left & right flashers when not in hazard mode.

Are you sure you have checked ALL of the bulbs that flash when the turn signal is turned on? I say this because there are two filaments at each corner that should flash. The two marker lights on the front (one at each side) are the ones that many people miss.

I have not had an instance where I can hear the flasher clicking when the signal is off, however, my friend's car clicks like 50-100 times after he turns his signal on/off. What does that mean?

Also, I'm fairly sure I checked all my bulbs/filaments, however, tonight, I'll check again. Thanks for the replies.

A clicking flasher module could be caused by damage in the multifunction switch. The flashing typically will click, then stop clicking when the brake pedal is pressed. The problem starts with the hazard switch portion of the multifunction switch, but can end up damaging the rest of the multifunction switch.

So I was just incredibly not paying attention when on my taillights I did NOT see the right side had only 1 blinking light and the left had 2, so I found the bulb and such, and now I have a question...

Is there any reason I cannot replace my 3057 mini rear turn signal bulb with some LED light like Amazon.com: Pilot LI-3057 LED Brake and Tail Lamp Bulb: Automotive ?

Also, as reading in other posts, I'd want to get red LED's since it's behind a red lens?

Thanks.

Also:

I understand that by using LED's I'll need a flasher module (since I don't want to do many things that are perm. to my vehicle) but what exactly is a flasher module, and is it literally called a flasher module? Could you recommend any?

This thread has helped me, so thanks. I couldn't figure out why both the front and back were blinking fast (usually one will blink fast and one won't work at all if a bulb needs to be changed). Now that I see there are two bulbs in the rear, that makes sense.

I didn't bring any tools with me when I moved, so I was taking a quick look to see what I need. Opening the rear gate reveals two screws on the inside, and I'll need either a small socket or some pliars to disconnect the actuator arm in order to access the bottom screw.

Question...Is it only the two screws that need to be removed, or is there something else that I didn't see?

Late reply, but... You are correct. You just need a screwdriver and pliers/a small socket. The taillight cover just comes off then you just take the bulb out. Nothing special.

I have a 1/4" drive ratchet that accepts 1/4" drive screwdriver bits. It works WONDERS on the rear light housings. The ratchet is very flat & not normal as far as a typical ratchet goes. It was in a Canadian Tire socket set I got. If I remember tomorrow I'll get a few pics & post. You south of the border may be able to get something like this at Sears or Harbor Freight.

But as for the hydraulic ram gate arm... yeah & a small flat screwdriver pops the lock off, just have your free hand over it so it doesn't clear the garage!
