Default Turn signal clicker-deal

Hey folks!

About a month ago i picked up an 01 Jimmy SLT. It's basically mint, 175K km (110Kish miles). Looks and runs great, but 1 issue has come up in the last couple days. The turn signal clicker (mr. tock tock tock) comes on even when i am not signalling a turn. The signal lights don't come on, just the thing that makes the noise in the cab. it occurs about half the time that the car is running, haven't been able to notice and patterns (like whether it;s only while idling or going downhill or whatever) other than it does not occur if i'm pressing on the brake pedal.

Any one know what could be causing this? where is the actual clicker located (sounds like maybe in/around the glove box?) can i disconnect it without effecting anything else?

thanks guys!

Sounds like your flasher module is on the blink.
(Ha!) It's located behind the glove box. You will need to have the replacement on hand if you wish to have turn signals and/or flashers. There's a tutorial on YouTube about changing it. Search Blazer flasher module. Hope this helps.

There is also a problem with the grease in the turn signal section of the Multi Function Switch. Over time microscopic bits of metal get into that grease and carry tiny amounts of current to the electronic flasher which will click at the slightest amount of current. I have taken the switch partially out and cleaned the area with q-tips and re greased with fresh di-electric grease. That eliminated the dreaded click click click. I'd try a new flasher first because it's a lot less work. If the clicking persists then clean and/or replace the $witch.
