Default turn signal switch

I am replacing the turn switch on a 91 blazer s-10. The three screws that hold the switch in are removed and the switch should come out but does not. There seems to be something holding it in and will not let me pull it out. Am I missing something here or is it just hard to get out. Also I have not done anything with the 4wd wheel lights as of yet as I need to take the dash board cover out to get to the light switch. The body is that of a Studebaker lark for those who help with my 4wd problems.
