Hello i was changing spark plug wires, cap, and rotor on my 2000 2D 2WD Blazer ajd accidentally ripped out what seems to be a sensor, can i still drive? It will not go back in🙄

Looks like your temp sensor. You can drive it, but it may not run right.

I'm not sure if that one is for the gauge, or to let the PCM know the coolant temperature for fuel mixture purposes, or both. Does the temp gauge work?

You will have to fix it or you will most likely be running very rich and SES light will come on. It is for both gauge and fuel injection sensor - the PCM uses this sensor for both. It's cheap and a common part. Just replace it.

i replaced it and (with almost all these sensors) it seems bigger and a TINY bit longer than the oem, it won’t thread ALL the way through theres still about 1/8th of an inch of threadlocker and thread left. Is it safe to leave and plug back in? Most positive it isn’t cross threaded.

It should be tapered pipe thread, so that's perfectly normal. As long as it's tight and doesn't leak.

How's it running at start up? How's the temp gauge doing ?
