Where to route rear view camera wire?
Wondering a good place to route the rear view camera wire.
It's just a thin video cable.
The power wire will be wired under-neath the cargo area. Maybe.
Also wondering how to prevent the camera from using power when the vehicle is off...
I'm guessing the lights would be the best way to do it, since the lights will be off when you shut the car off, and even in the day time, it's just a simple switch of the parking lights.
Would salt/water be an issue?
I plan to wrap it in electrical tape or maybe heatshrink, although I've never used that before.
Any tips on installing and maintenance, etc appreciated.
It's the cheap $40 DP AudioDBC366 rear view camera.
Also, I am mounting it about 4 inches left of the license plate because there was a cargo flap with a trailer hookup there, and the hole is almost perfect.
