Default Best way to wire power for a rear view camera?

I am thinking about wiring it to the brake lights or license plate light since I am using the same grommet as the license plate wiring.

Any suggestions?

I would run a relay and fuse personally and just run a direct wire from the battery....Thats always the safest bet.

I will probably run a dedicated line from the battery.

What size wire do you recommend?

Right now it's bridged from the license plate wires.
