Red face Window lift motor, regulator problem

Hi everyone. I have a problem with the drivers side window regulator. I decided to change it myself, as I am now retired and have to watch my dollars. I consulted the "experts" on YouTube. Big mistake on this procedure. Directions said I should remove the lift motor first. "might be hard to get out" was the quote. It was practically impossible, but I did it, breaking the motor in the process. What I should have done is remove the regulator first. Anyway, now everything seems to be under pressure. I can't get the regulator out. I am just about to the point of getting a used door from "Pick-N-Pull." I am hearing that this is a difficult task, as the hinges are welded to the body. Any advice or any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
"Feeling really stupid right now."
John

I can't really help you with your problem but I am following as my drivers side window isn't working either. You don't mention what year/make vehicle you have.
