Wired in a mini tach today...
#12
Wired the red (constant 12v) to the thick red wire behind the headlight switch
Wired the white wire (12v switched) to the dimmer switch for the dash lights enabling me to dim the tach along with the dash simultaneously.
Ran the black to a solid ground bolt behind the dash
ran the green wire (rpm signal) through the grommet into the engine bay. Routed it up by the brake booster and along firewall to the factory rpm sensor wire (white with black stripe) on the ICM. Should take you 20-45 minutes depending how you run your wires..there are plenty of ways to do it. This was easiest for me

Aahhhh
So I am trying to wire up the same tach in my 95'. I tried wiring it through the cluster bundle but that did not work after several different attempts. I found this thread and im giving it a try. however, after i looked at my ICM I did not find a white with black stripe wire. I have a solid white wire paired with a solid red. and on the other clip to the ICM there is four wires. One of them being another solid white. Which white wire do you think I should splice to? the clip with the red and white or the clip with the four wires...
