91 chevy lumina 3.1 ??
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I tried the gen tech but couldnt post.
Please remove or move this post if it is needed..
HI, a buddy of mine got this 91 chevy 3.1..
it wont start, we checked the fuel system, and had 40 psi at the valve on the rail, it also has spark, but if we spray carb cleaner in the TB it will start and run, so he changes the psi reg.. and same problem
so it seems there is fuel getting to the rail but not into the injectors. So it seems the injectors arent getting a signal and The only way to check the inj, or the circuit is to remove the intake plenum. But before i do this I have a few questions..
does the crank sensor control the inj as well as the ignition?
can it be the computer?
im not getting any codes..
thanks
Don

so i take it the fuel pump is ok? im an auto tech and would be glad to help and i also owned a 92 lumina. went thru 5 fuel pumps. i highly doubt all 6 injectors are clogged and 41-47 is whats the recommended fuel pressure is. if u know how to ohm test check all ur injectors and make sure u have 8-12 ohms. also ur saying u spray carb cleaner and it runs<?? does it run once its started off of fuel or only runs while ur sprayin cc in it? and yes if ur crank sensor is bad which ive seen on other luminas could also be the the problem.
