Default Anyone else got the diabetes?

I was just curios as to how many members have the 'betes. I've had it for 20 years and I just got an insulin pump, and it's awesome. It's kinda sad that the most expensive thing I own now (retail on it is $6,100.)
So post up how long you've had it and how you handle it.

Luckily I got it when I was 1 year old so I have always watched what I eat. I don't know anything other than the diabetes life.

One of my co-workers switched to the pump a few years ago and loves it. So much easier to maintain the blood sugar at an even level. The lead singer for Mountain, Leslie West came into town Biloxi, MS Friday for a concert at the Hard Rock Casino but his foot swelled up and was rushed to the hospital and due to complications from poor leg circulation and diabetes they had to amputate his leg below the knee to save his life. The blood in his foot became septic and was poisoning the rest of his body.

If you're talking things or health complications that effect your everyday life - I'm lactose intollerant, trust me, thats the $hits at times.
Gotta pop a pill or a couple when out with friends because a sauce or there's cheese or any milk or cream.
Think about how many things have dairy products, TONS & I keep a blister pack at work & one in the blazer all the time of the little pills that help me digest it without gut wrenching pain & being afraid to fart unless my a$$ is over porcelin.
Obvoulsly it's not in the same realm but it does affect everyday life.
