The Best of Both Worlds
Is this possible?
TO have a 4x4 blazer that is Dropped to hide the top portion of offroad tires...
So it looks lowered... but
An air shock/hydraulic system to bring it up to offroad capability heights?
So basically a sleeper mud machine....
To my understanding the inner fenders would no longer exist..

Anything is possible with $$$, knowhow and the skills needed.
My main concern would be the strength of such a suspension when offroad. From my limited knowledge bank, those types of suspensions are for 100% show and 0% go.

funny, i saw some idiot kids in a HSE 4.6 Range a few Summer's ago, and he was doing that with the factory adjustable suspension @ a red light.
while i was looking @ him like, "you're such a tool, in your Daddy's truck", the cops sitting 2 car back from him, must have thought the same thing.
'cause when the light turned green, he got pulled over in about 200 yrds.
You take that stance at the end of the video and go, "What did you say?"

But yeah as for the idea of a sleeper mud truck. You'd need major $ and fab skills to make it work right AND be functional in moderate offroading. I thought about lowering my 4x4 blazer and switching between 20's and 29 inch superswampers just to screw with people. But offroading would be very limited with that set-up. To me a true sleeper mud truck is a lifted truck with the tires and such but is very, VERY clean. Flawless body and paint, no rust. No one would suspect it. Or go mudding with your mud tires, and then drive it covered in mud with factory size tires and rims.

Off topic, something I always wanted to see, since alot of people point out the ginormous frame on the s-series vehicles. Is to bodydrop a blazer (like the mini truckers do) and lift it. I think it would be interesting. It would hurt to lift height and blah blah blah, but I'd like to see it.

and loose about 6" of head room! no i don't think it would be very fun to off-road with, 'cause you'd be reclined so far back to keep your neck from snapping.
at least the driver of a BD Dime has a reason to be driving laid back-unlike most of those idiot rice drivers. i saw a new Golf in downtown Toronto last night, and i said to the wife, "is anyone driving that thing?". she replied, "doesn't look like it".
dude was so far relined, through the tint in the back window, all it looked like was the top of the headrest that was sticking up-not his head!
a 4 link suspension is actually quite rugged, many off road vehicles have link type suspensions, and i've seen some purpose built 4x4's with air suspensions
