Default cv axle

Just replaced a cv axle on my daughter's mazda. Do I need to get an alignment after doing this?

if all you replaced was the cv then no, an alignmnet is only required if you replace a steering or suspension componet, and sometimes a wheel bearing, or tires. but if you feel the alignment is off or if their hasent been a alignment on the vehicle for a few years then i would get one, it will prolong the length of your tires, steering and suspension componets and will give you better MPG's if things are out of whack.

As long as you got the strut back into position you should be OK. Assuming you had to remove the strut from the tower and the alignment was good in the first place, that is.

Didn't have to remove the strut from car, just unbolted the knuckle from the strut.

Ditto, you need one now, the alignment adjuster is the two big *** bolts you took out of the strut. If you ever want to get around the alignment next time, undo the 2 frame mounts on the lower control arm and take it off there instead to get the axle out and you can leave all your brake parts on, it will actually be faster that way. There is no adjustment there on your car and it would go back together the same as it was.
