yeah, if i hadn't got broke into i'd have never put a security system on the blazer. anyone reading this that is debating on putting a remote start/security system on their blazer. i paid 100 bucks on ebay for the crimestopper 2014 tw2, if i'd have had it when i was broke into i'd have probably saved at least 400-500 bucks, so the system would have paid for itself. do it, its definetly worth it if it prevents a break in or scares a thief away

had my old 323 broken into. They used a crowbar and bent the top of the drivers door like 6 inches out from the car. I was surprised the windown didnt shatter. They took my subs, some change and CD's. Surprisingly they left my girlfreind's purse untouched.....but no one ever said crackheads are smart. worst thing was driving home the next day in a downpour with a 6 inch gap between the top of the door and the body.

Well..first if you left your vehicle unlocked....you can't complain...I mean it still sucks and it shows how crappy humans can be...but if you give a thief that type of opportunity...it's on you..

HOWEVER, I did have a 94 Nissan 4x4 get the window smashed in and they ripped my radio out and stole my change...LOL...however, I wish I could have thanked them! The radio had some sort of short in it or something and the channels wouldn't program....so thanks to them...the insurance company replaced with with a NEW RADIO...better, stronger and it saved presets! All of that....and they left 2 $350 dollar hunting jackets behind the seat.... ?

x2 on keeping your car unlocked. I always lock my car, and hide everything valuable (ie ipods, phones, PSP, etc). My girlfriend always makes fun of me for it but I'm just keeping safe lol. I don't ever want to have to deal with that, not only the trouble of going through an insurance company and all that, but the feeling of having been violated, that someone you don't even know was rummaging around through your truck. I would feel weird if my friend started looking through my truck for something without asking, let alone a complete stranger, who also happens to be a criminal.

Who would buy a used jacket? They couldn't sell it, it so why steal it? Also, chances are they don't know the difference between something nicer like a Carhartt and a cheapo walmart jacket.

I used to have a 99 Z24 years ago, was a sweet little 4 banger car. Was at the movies with a girl and car was parked in the lot. Came out of movies to find my alarm blaring, passenger door open, and my dashboard kicked apart and the CD player missing. My CD player was a top of the line Alpine unit with no amp built in and 3 sets of 4V pre-outs. Well anyone familiar with stereos knows that the 4V decks have a booster box on a 14 inch wire that hangs off the back of the deck. THAT part was still in my dash, so the stereo they took was now ruined and all the wires were snipped off including my 3 sets of expensive output wires... And my dash was kicked apart and ruined and insurance claim was to be made to get it all fixed up... Man was I ever mad. They also stole ALL my CDs in this binder style book I had.

Alarm and flashing lights didnt deter this theif, and Im sure someone would have seen it happening on a busy tuesday night at the theatre and didnt do anything about it.

Now I take my faceplates off... Dont know how the theif saw it through the limo tinted windows, but he did.

hmm ... this will be a long list.....I'll list by car and what was stolen

1983 Camaro ... Sony CD Player and my entire CD collection ($200 CD Player and over $1000 of CDs, and a $3.00 tool set )
1977 Cutlass S ... Formula 800w Amp and Box w/ 2 Zeus 12" Subs (about $300 used) and a set of Sony Xplod 6x9's (about $80)
1985 F-150 ... 2 Sony Xplod 6 1/2's, a VCR, Pioneer Head unit and a Motorolla Nextel Phone (overall about $450 - 500)
1976 Cutlass S - Pioneer Head unit ($200)
1997 Blazer - MA Audio 1200w Mono Block Amp, Custom Built Box with 3 10" MA Audio subs, 1600w no name Amp, Sirius Receiver, Dual Head Unit, 1 Farad Power Cap (about $600)
1984 Bronco - CB Antenna ($20)

The comments about not locking your vehicles is right, it is your fault that its stolen.. IT SUCKS EITHER WAY! and if someone else forgets to lock your doors, then it really sucks because you have no way of protecting against it... i'm just sick and tired of the bs people trying to take something that you worked your a** off to afford...

I kid you not, i watched a dumba** try and break into my truck today while i was in class. I park so that i can see my truck from my seat next to the window. I had forgot to put my driver side window up all the way(it was 54 degrees today) and this idiot was trying to force the window down to get into my truck. I hit my key fob to set off my alarm and he ran... Now, my window is out of alignment. Its my fault i know but still... Is a $60 dollar Garmin GPS in my center console worth it? or maybe the radio that is a pain to get out? or electrocuting yourself when trying to steal the subs out the back?

I lock my vehicles as does my wife. Don't keep anything in them. Not many want stock radios, wheels etc. I have been fortune I guess. Back about 40 years ago I had my apartment robbed. But that is it.

Wow...seems like a lot of people have had their vehicles broken into. Not that it really suprises me in todays world, but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (knock on wood) who's never had anything stolen from my vehicle...
