Default First Time visiting a machine shop, see you soon 350!

Today I met up with a fella that came highly recommended from a friend of mine and dropped my 350 off with him. It was a virgin 350 block from 1978, my friend had it sitting covered up in a field for the past few years after it got "swapped for a Cadillac motor instead". We talked for awhile about the best course of action and we ended up getting it ready to be dipped in a vat, magnafluxed, new cam bearings and freeze plugs, and have the crankshaft grinded for $300. After that's done, we're going to bore it 30 over and add new flat top pistons, and possibly either rework the old stock heads or buy Vortec heads to go on it.

Either way the guy's been really helpful with it all since it's my first engine build, definitely impressed with his level of professionalism. Can't wait to have my new motor back and in my Jimmy

I'll be looking forward to the build! That's not a bad deal for all that machine work, I paid $500 years ago to have a 4 cylinder machined, line bored for the crank, bored 30 over, head decked, brass freeze plugs installed, rods refreshed, and crank polished!

Not much of that engine was left stock though
