Default Grand Prix Revvin

My buddy has a Grand Prix turbo'd and got screwed when he took it to a shop (Don't know the initial issue). Now he has it back, but when stopped at a light, it'll rev up to around 1800 rpm's. Also gas mileage is horrible (12mpg). Any ideas?

Sorry I don't have much info...
Thanks.

Yep, possible vacuum leak. The shop may have left a vauum line off or hooked it to the wrong port. It's also possible his thermostat is stuck open or he had a cooler one put in. Good idea on carbureted engines, bad mojo on computerized fuel injection. It puts the induction system into "open loop" mode and never gets out of it because the engine never warms up.

Ironically enough, I'm helping him out with a coolant flush some time this weekend.

He said he initially took it to the shop because of a grinding noise coming from the AC pump. Doesn't really seem like that would really cause it though..? He also said they broke a coolant pipe and a brake line in the month they had it. Just tryin to help a brotha out. Thanks guys.
