Since you IL guys get the shaft and cant cc you might as well have a high cap. handgun or a shotgun and size shouldnt be such an issue.
I'm not a glock person which seems to be a trend. I've always liked Smith and Wesson, Browning, Ruger and Springfield Armory. Smith has some nice m&p .40 guns. Crimson Trace sells a nice laser for that m&p. My other suggestion would be the springfield Armory xd .45. I can say its a kickass gun and very accurate.

Interior Home Defense:
Line 1: Dog.
Line 2: Mossberg 835, 3 1/2" 00Buck.

Hunting and fun.
Marlin 1894 in .45-70 Govt. Can also fire .410 gauge shotgun shells. (don't do this very often though)
Remington 700BDL in 30.06
And of course Ruger 10-22 plinker.

Been thinking 'bout a handgun myself. Read good reliability reviews on the SIG's, Glocks, H&K's and Springfield 1911's, .45 ACP, but I have noticed that all the new 1911's are made overseas now so not sure of quality. Also considering .44 MAG. "You feel lucky punk? Well, do ya?"

I do NOT and WILL NEVER buy guns from Wal-Mart. I hate even getting ammo there. Rather drive the hour to Cabela's.

try a few kinds of ammo. think of it like oil for your blazer.
all do the same thing.... some just do it better.
your weapon will find a particular weight and load of ammo it likes best, but all will fire just fine.

know that you're 9mm will appreciate shooting people at 7m or less. It will forgive you at 25m or less. you "can" hurt people up to 50m away, but it's crap beyond that. *the bullet can go over 1800 meters though*

get yourself a nice 115 grain 9mm FMJ for target work, familiarization <-- most basic bullet ever, or flat tipped for 'punch'

some 124 grain JHP for HD <-- no frills hollow points

or go all out ($20 for 20 bullets) 147 grain Hyra-Shoks <-- it's like a pojectile based autopsy in the damage is does to meat targets....

WOW! 3 pages, 28 posts, all in 34 hrs since this thread started.

and i notice it really is only revolving (hehe) around a couple of guys input.

no wonder we have so many restrictions up here in Canada-you guys have scared the bejesus outta our Liberal pu**ies we have in office.

besides, the neighbours all around would here ya dumpin' round after round into the idiot standing in your patio door.

me, i prefer the bat i have @ the front door closet. besides, it's easier to hide the body after, when you don't have nosiey neighbours going, "did you hear that 'bang'? it sounded like someone just got shot?".

besides all of the above, there's waaaaaaay to many hoops to jump through in Ontario-just to be able to discuss the possibility of handling one.
