Have a good one, eh.
be nice now, hahahaha.
i like white meat myself. besides, when i do my bird, you don't need any gravy, the bird is so juicy.
i think i had too much food this year for our get together. we went up North this year, and got together with my best friends family and the neighbours accross the road (6 adults, 6 kids) and had a 24lb. bird, 10lb. smoked ham, probably 10lbs. of potatoes (3 different ways), a s**t load of stuffing, corn, carrots, and all the other veggies as well, and i think there was 4, no 5 pies too!
i can tell you one thing for sure, don't ever eat home made chile con carne, the night before eating your Turkey diner-the after effects are brutal, HAHAHAHAHA!
hope everyone had a safe weekend.

Well i think the time is passed but next year enjoy your Thanksgiving American style!
Start pounding beers at about 10. Start yelling at the kids and alientating family members by noon. fire up the deep fryer around 3. Huck a cold turkey in 450 degree oil at 4. Call the fire department at 4:03. And enjoy some Taco Bell at the Motel 6 while you work with your home owners insurance for the next 5 days!
I can't wait until the end of November!

try cookin' your bird in the ground with charcoal, works beautifully. have also tried doing it in brine, comes out so wet 'n juicy-i'm talkin' about the Turkey guys....
are those pic's from your own frier fires, or the neighbour's? hahahahaha.
If you're gonna deep fry, do it at someone elses house... and bring them a case of brew to get started early
That way you can file under THEIR insurance and you still have a garage/house for Christmas
As far as the brine goes, thats how we catch crab. Toss a pot with turkey drumsticks and let the crab roll in. I rather have the crab than salt water turkey...
As far as the coals in the ground go, kalua Turkey? That sounds awesome. i'll have to look into that
Damn you Canada! Your early Thanksgiving has made me so very very hungry!

Yeah, my thanksgiving consisted of me driving three hours north with my Blazer the friday before up to butt ____ nowhere, packed with mine and my dad's luggage, a couple of rifles, a trailer and my ATV on it.
Then driving 50 km's down a dirt un-graded road (that was hell, have rock chips to prove it) and then doing another 10 km's worth of mud puddles. (that was the fun part of the drive in lol. Didn't stop smiling til I turned off the truck.)
Then waking up at 5 am every morning to go hunting with a hangover lol.
I did however have two turkey dinners (sunday night at the hunt camp and last night when I got home), and between that and all the beer I think I put about 5 pounds on lol. You don't burn calories sitting in a lookout or riding the ATV around lmao.
Happy belated turkey day fellow canucks, and happy belated columbus day neigbours to the south.
Eh.

yeah, the bird in the ground is pretty good. you just wrap the sucker in foil, put it on a bed of warmed up coals, then pack a few more around it. cover it wth a board (or the top to an old BBQ, and rotate it every once in awhile. we started our 24lb. bird @ 9ish, and was sitting down to eat by 5pm.
glad we could help. hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving next month.
cheers!
