Have a look at what I found - a new project

please do not chop that car up. its too much of an original for that. Just do some resto work and since its not original paint you could put a fresh coat on or even a different color and then a good set of chrome wheels. maybe 18's. It would make for a great cruising car.

You should think about something like this. Remove your front an rear bumpers and get the body shop that paints it to fill in and smooth the mounts for them and then just clean it up otherwise and put some wheels on it. It would be much cheaper and classier that a big chop job with suspension and motor.

Please do a original restore on it. It is your car, but why not make it back to original and do the truck thing to something not so rare. Mark my words, if you chop it up, you will always be asked why you didn't make it original. Do as you wish, but that is a rare auto, it would be very sad to see it done any other way but original.

not to sound like a broken record here, but you do realize that there aren't a lot of these around anymore, right.
it'd be a real shame to see something in such good shape get sliced 'n diced. if it was a complete rust bucket, it'd be a different story.
either way, if you do buy it from your landlord, it'll be your ride, not ours.
keep us updated on what happens with the car.
