Talking I MISS OUR BLAZER 4x4

A few weeks ago we moved 600 miles from where we were. We needed to tow a cargo trailer so our 98 Jeep GC 5.9 Limited was the choice of a tow vehicle. Well we are in our new place & settled in, the wife has signed her contract at work but our Blazer is being missed. We had to leave it behind for now. We hope to go back in April & get it. But I keep thinking I should return early & pick it up. We like our Jeep it is a great truck with lots of power (360CI 295 HP/300FT/LB/torque) but in the city the gas mileage is not good, 11-12 mpg (foot out of it). On the road we get 17.5 mpg average. Our Blazer gets as a rule 14-16 mpg in town & up to 21 mpg on the road.
So we will see how long I can stand to wait before getting it. I have my Suzuki SV650S for gas mileage but I still miss the Blazer 4x4.

Man I hear ya there. I sold my first Jimmy back when I was in the Army before I deplpyed and regreted it. Guess what.. I have another jimmy now its just an upgraded version but a bit older I still miss that first one though. But it was 2wd poseing as a 4x4 and this one is actually a 4x4. Funny thing too. My old one was white and so is the one I have now!

Yea, I won't sell it. I'm planning on driving it to over 200,000 miles. But it looks like I'm going to have to go without it until April.

Yeah I don't think Ill ever sell this one. Ill just keep fixing crap till I can rebuild all the drivetrain and I want to build the newer 4.3 for tunablility for better mpg and power. But still the 2wd jimmy I had I regret selling. I had a lot of time invested into that thing

We have 157,000 miles on ours & I feel the same way. These new cars are getting to expensive, maintenance is getting to expensive, now these new vehicles are requiring special expensive lubes etc.
The Trailblazers that replaced the Blazers are not bad vehicles but they have their problems as well. We owned an 04 Trailblazer 4x4. I hated the drive by wire throttle. not to mention a $450 fan clutch. The I-6 was a good motor with good power & good gas mileage. We use to get 19-22 mpg. But if you used it hard off road as I did I tore off the plastic bumpers.
