JB Weld chemistry and advice (funny)
So I was curious as to the actual chemistry of how JB Weld works and found this great article at Wired.com of all places. It is short but quite informative including the final part that also gives advice:
Barium Sulfate
More filler. BaSO4 is radiopaque, which is why they make you swallow it to x-ray your innards. Pro tip: Do not attempt this with J-B Weld.
I hope none of you learned this lesson the hard way! LOL

Reminds me of when I was learning to weld and one of the other students asked a couple of the instructors how he can weld aluminum to steel for some project he wanted to make. I piped up before the instructors could answer by simply saying, "JB Weld."
Jaws dropped and you could hear a pin drop. I thought I would be thrown out of class and asked never to come back. Amazingly, the instructors agreed with me. I don't understand all the chemical talk and such. I did take chemistry in high school and didn't understand it then, even though I passed. Physics I understand, just combine math and physical forces basically. Chemistry? Pure magic to me to this day.
