that looks like a g80, you could always look in your glove box at the RPO (Regular Production Option) codes and see if there is one that says g80. and i think there is a special gear oil that you have to use with the g80 but so your mechanic may have ruined it for you. and 300 for a new rear end? they are a little cheaper here in washington but i guess it all depends on your area so it doesnt sound like a horrible deal. and as far as the drums to disks go its not hard, just do a quick search on here and you will find everything. if having the locker isnt very important to you right now i would wait till a newer blazer/jimmy/bravada comes into the junk yard with the disks and the g80. and im assuming you have the GT4 gear ratio (also found in the glove box)
