Default Question about Top Fuel Dragtsers

Alright i was looking around at pics of dragsters and i happened to notice that it almost looked like it had 2 distributors and wires that went to each cylinder. I know running on alcohol is nothing like gas and the size of those motors are insane along with they run about 6000hp for 4 seconds but anyone care to elaborate why they need 2 sets of did I answer my own question lol?

Edit: Ok im useing my buddy 2002Xtremes pic, I hope he doesent mind but in this picture it has 2 sets of distributor caps and 2 sets of wires. https://blazerforum.com/forum/album....pictureid=3797

Hotter spark, the higher RPMs they turn, more reliable, and more complete combustion. Dual ignition is nothing new, hell nissan and ford both have had it on production vehicles in the past. Granted it might have been 4 bangers with only one dizzy but 8 plugs.

My mom's 1980-somethin Datsun 200SX had dual-plugs. I don't think it has anything to do with being topfueler's, but with preventing misfires.

Regards,

Thomas
