Default Thinking of going to the dark side

So I have a chance to buy a 1989 jeep comanche 4x4 5 speed manuel for $1000 the only problem is that I would have to sell the Isuzu hombre first to get it. The other problem is it needs about $700 in repairs witch places it around the value it should be going for as according to kbb. Another plus is it has less miles then the hombre and came from texas aka NO RUST AT ALL....it does need new tires in country standards but I was just wondering what other people thought. These trucks are built on the cherokee platform so I'm in no lacking of parts but the body itself are not very common.

I personally would try to make the deal happen if your truck is 2wd. Also I am more of a fan of suv's so that would make me want to ditch the hombre as well. If your ride is 4x4 it will be a harder decision, but in the long run I think I would still do it just because i really love suv's..

Old jeeps do not exactly have the best reputation. Then again, as long as you take it for what it is and don't expect years of trouble free driving, I bet you could have lots of fun with it

I had a 89 xj before my blazer I loved it as a trail rig but not so much as a dd. But mine also had close to 250k miles on the clock so it was worn. What repairs does it need?

the slave cylinder leaks like a siv and a comanche is a truck style not suv, both my hombre and the jeep have 4x4 although my truck is gonna need vacuum line replacements for that here shortly. The jeep is less rusted then my truck and I know the 4.0 I-6 engines have a lot of life in them. The only other thing I can forsee as the next repair the jeep would need would be u-joints in the front but those aren't too bad to do.
