Yeah, it's kept in a 4' diameter chamber filled with Sulfur Hexafluroride (SF6 is a gas that acts as an insulator with 2x the breakdown voltage of air) so it doesn't arc across everything.

I work for the North Central Oregon Education Service District or NCESD for short. We are based out of Condon Oregon and provide IT support for all of the school's and county buildings in Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler county's. We also provide a wireless back haul connection from all of our schools back to us in order to supply internet and network connectivity, as well as all other technology needs.

I am the head cook at a daycare. I am also a teachers aide at that daycare.
I used to work at a mural company, until the CEO decided to spend company funds on his out of state girlfriend, cocaine, and weekend trips to vegas. So they had to scale back.

My wife has been at the same daycare for 6 years, got me this job as a temp in the kitchen, I have proven myself enough for the lead cook to want to leave (they were burnt out)
Salary, 401k, benefits, its a pretty sweet gig for something I love doing, cooking.

All of our newer high voltage breakers are SF6, and a lot of the switches have SF6 interrupters on them.

I've heard that if you breathe SF6, it makes your voice very deep, the opposite of helium. But they frown on us doing that...

Yeah I'd stay away from that stuff. Probably smells terrible at the very least.
