^ my buddy had one of those little 400's and carried a spare clutch cable at all times
He had well over 100K km on his and was not afraid to ride it any where
We had to watch our highway speeds if it was really windy so he could keep up LOL

those little 400s are fun to ride. they got alotta pep, but get blown around at 65+

and on that 750 Spirit- you cant go wrong with Honda! my dads bike was a Honda Shadow ACE, and my uncle had a Spirit. both the bikes NEVER had problems. id choose Honda over anythin else any day. but for now, i bought what i could afford

I took mine out for a nice ride in the 50* weather today. Got cutoff almost instantly, but definitely fun to ride again.

I have a 82 xs400 I would say this is not a bike for riding on the interstate. It doesnt hold the ground very well when i semi blows by you doing 70mph.Good thing is I have alot of 2 lane hiways i can ride on.I can ride all the way to Detroit on back roads if I wanted too.I love my little 400xs but I cant wait to upgrade to something like 750.Its also been my secondary winter project.

I used to ride sport touring bikes. I've had two Kawasaki Concours ZG1000 bikes. The first one had 110K when I sold it. The second one I got right before a neck injury so I didn't put many miles on it. Now, I'm riding a Yamaha 1100 Silverado. I miss being in the sweet spot at 80 mph but I'd have to have neck surgery to ride a sport tourer again.

Haha, kinda wish I had a spare with me at the time lol but yeah, when the bike was in decent shape I wouldn't have been afraid to take it anywhere either.

Heck yeah those were fun to ride! Tons of pep for only a 400 lol

And on a side note, did anyone see Honda is coming back out with the CB series (not the crotch rockets)? They are going to have an 1100 standard bike, that would be awesome to have! If only they weren't almost $10,000....
