Default Question about lowering w tires I have

Hey all,
I just bought an 02 2wd 4dr and I want to lower it some. The tires on the stock swirl rims are 255/70/15. Im thinking 2-3 in front and 3 in rear to have a little bit of rake. How low can I go on those tires w/o rubbing? I dont want to slam it just get er down a little. Thanks in advance.

255/70 is not a stock tire size that i know of. i used to have a 95 that was lowered about the same, 3 in the back and 2-3 in the front. i would rub only when turning real tight in the front on the sway bar. but not too bad. if memory serves right, i think that i was running 235/70r15.

I know that size isnt stock, thats why I posted the question. The wheels I have are stock. What sucks is the tires are almost new too.

Two inches in the front with about 3/8 less offset (moved tires out) with a 29 1/4tire and it rubs the back of the fender when tweeking out of a driveway at full lock.
