New member here, but I’ve been lurking the pages for help for awhile now! Decided to join recently and thought I’d show my 97 4 door. It’s still in progress but getting there slowly.
Got jimbob belushi with 155k, now at 171 and have gone through nearly everything. All new front steering and suspension, besides gearbox and center link. New to the truck with 86k another 3.42 rear end, currently rebuilding the rear end for 4 disc for easier maintenance. Lower intake and all refreshing of gaskets done. Coolant flushed 5 times and replaced rad as well with green coolant.
I’m a bass head as well, electrical upgraded, 1/0 sky high ofc copper wire, three direct grounds from battery (rad supp., frame rail, engine block) as well as engine block to frame rail. Positive ran to rear battery that is grounded to rear frame rail. Gone through every ground point, disconnected and sanded to bare metal. Positive added off alt to battery all positives ran off fuses.
Lowered 3” blocks in the rear and (for now) torsion bolts backed out, surprising decent ride. Sitting on 18” rear and 17” c5 wagons staggered. Yes it is 4wd, yes it is still functioning, and plan to c notch the frame and put it on coils in the front. Later plans are for my v8 swap after I’m happy with all exterior work!
Would love to see some sweet builds throughout! I’m from Northwest Indiana, about an hour from Chicago!
Before drop After 3” drop blocks 5% all around, full 20 windshield with 5% strip Took forever to find the size I wanted, 275/40/18 on 3” spacers. Painted front rubberized under coating and truck bed liner with a clear. After looming the wires for a clean finish Doing headlight wire upgraded with relays (12 gauge, diode added between +high + low for quad beam mod) Painted the silver side moldings more of a gun metal Grey to match the c5 wagons that were powder coated.
