Default fuel milage

Hi Everyone ! Iam driving a 2003 GMC JIMMY I have had it for almost 2 weeks and love it. Drive back and forth to work every day about 240 kilometers each day. (Canada) . That one trip per day is about 1/2 tank of fuel. Was driving 1996 gmc sierra z71 prior to this but was breaking me going back and forth, just use locally now. Need 4x4 for winter and thought down sizing would also cut fuel consumtion in half. Wrong. Is there anything out there to help improve fuel economy? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum from Nova Scotia! Where abouts in Canada are you?
And don't expect any good mileage out of your Blazer. They're known for terrible mileage.
