Hello from Iowa
Hey Everybody . . . I finally decided to join the forum. Sorry it took so long.
I bought my first 1998 Chevy Blazer (Black) in October of 2009 for $2900. Right away I found this site, and I began reading like crazy. I have rarely done my own automotive work, but I wanted to do it all on my own this time. And I could not have done it without this site . . . oh, and my 3 volume GMC service manuals. Therefore, I figured after 7 months of leeching off of you guys, and gaining all this valuable information, I should probably say "Thanks" and join. I am not planning on getting rid of my Blazer anytime soon!!!
So, here is the short history. In October 2009, the first month of owning it, I replaced the TPS, the bank 1 sensor 3 exhaust sensor, the rear wiper motor, the 4x4 vacuum actuator under the battery, and for fun put on vent shades.
In November I replaced the driver and passenger side wheel bearing assembly, the front rotors and breaks, and the catalytic converter and exhaust.
At the end of December it was time for a radiator flush and oil change.
In February it was the starter that needed replacing.
At the beginning of April it was Dorman oil cooler lines (front and back), oil change, and a K&N cold air intake because the stock intake rubbed against the new oil cooler lines . . . and I wanted it.
This May, June, and probably July(because I am running out of time) will be:
4x4 encoder motor
2" PA Body Lift (ordered)
2" Shackle Lift (received)
1.5" T-Bar Crank
Rough Country Shocks (ordered)
Cragar Black D Window Wheels – 15x7 with 5x4.75 Bolt Pattern with 4.5 inches of backspacing (ordered)
31x10.5x15 Tires
Paint/Rubberize the rusty frame
Bedliner the front bumper, rear bumper, rocker panels, lower doors, and roof rack
Baja roof rack lights
I am having a ton of fun working on this truck . . . and I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks!
