i just got my blazer :)

hi all, its been a few years since i have visited a forum. the last one i visited was streetfire.net then they got bought out and was all down hill from there, but enough about that...
my names neil. my story is pretty much had a 91 sierra, loved it. t boned in an accident
bought a 2008 rabbit new in 08, got laid off, sold, got a 2009 elantra, started apprenticing to be a mechanic, 2 years later realized i miss my chevy and car payments suck. sold the elantra. which brings me to here. i just bought a 1995 blazer ls 4x4 loaded, with 240,000 km. i think thats like 150,000 miles. body and interior are mint, one window switch doesnt work in the back door and its got a power steering leak and possibly a small oil leak. overall the vehicle is in excellent shape, and i got it for only $1400(cdn) through a family friend.
this isnt my blazer, but mine looks just like it plus some pin striping

my plan for this project is to first of all give it a tune up cause it runs just a little rough. total investment at this point is $1400, today at the dealership i work at i bought
wiper blades+rear wiper=$30
spark plugs $8 per pair =$24
spark plug wires =$56
fuel filter =$13
dist cap and rotor =$50
5l of ams oil 5-20 syn =$50
factory rec. oil filter =$9
factory rec. air filter =$8
and im waiting for a saturday off to install these items. thats a total investment so far of 1640. the vehicle will then be safetied, and insured and used as a daily driver. work to follow will be replace window switch in the rear driver door, buy a set of wrangler duratrac tires and mount and balance them myself at work

then flush all the fluids and replace with either amsoil or factory recommended fluids. install my 2 10 inch kicker subs along with whatever head unit i pick up. i want to tint all windows except windshield as dark as possible while remaining legal, black out tail lights, get a bush guard with fog lights, and lastly, possibly rebuild the tired old 4.3 and bring her back to full strength. the time frame for this will be a long one likely, but it feels good to have a project again instead of car payments.
pics to come tomorow of my blazer! i cant wait to share and learn from all of you.
