i thought sometimes power ratings in other countries chage due to different power restrictions

Another warm welcome from New Zealand.
Yeah the power rating is the same as yours, our blazers down here are imported from Japan.
We don't have the same smog regs as you guys do, when we do have to have them checked [ every 6months] they just give it a rev to see how much smoke comes out the rear end.

that's it?!! they don't give it the ol' rectal probe or nuthin'?

you guys get off kinda easy. mind you, we only do it every other year here in Ontario. for now....................

but it has to pass-no exceptions-when you transfer it into your name, or you're SOL.

LOL, that sounds so personal.
Yep thats pretty much it for smog control down here, every 6months we have to take them to the local testing station to get a WOF [Warrent of Fittness] to drive them on the road.
Check consists of body, brakes, lights, tires, running gear, steering, ball joints, suspension etc.I should post one of the reports we get so you guys can have a look.
