Hello to anyone who sees this. I guess this is just another new member greeting.
So back in October I managed to pick up a 2000 Blazer Zr2 (pics in album) with pretty impressive specs. Apparently the dealer put in an 80,000 mile engine in it along with a new clutch and it has about 133,000 miles on the body with little rust underneath. So how exactly rare are 5 speed blazers? Along with that stuff it had brand new Kelly Safari A/Ts along with an aftermarket head unit and replaced speakers.
Now the bad news is that the fuel gauge reads full all the time when on and will come up to about quarter tank with the key out. I'm hoping it has to be something to do with when they replaced the engine. So right now i'm just filling it up every 200 miles or so.
The thing that i've been fighting the most is that something is killing my battery and have no idea what. The guys down at advanced auto read that my alternator was running fine and just decided to put in a new battery. Well that didn't help so something has gotta be pulling energy and with snow on the ground and it being cold out it will be a pita to pull fuses until it stops. I've pulled the rad bat fuse but to no use. So i'll just take it to a shop and hopefully they won't charge me an arm and leg
So with all that do you think 5 grand for the truck was a bad deal or do you think I will pull out ahead? I know its gotta alot of potential to become an off-roading monster

Welcome from Alberta.
Looks like a nice ZR2. Regarding 5 speed Blazers, they're not nearly as common as the automatics, but they're not exactly rare either. Chasing battery draining gremlins is a real PITA, so I don't envy you there. Good luck, and I hope you get it worked out with minimal pain.
