It was Kenwood... as much as I like to listen to music and consider myself an audiophile, I really know very little about things such as car stereos and the like. I just know this one works. I bought it at Car Toys on North Academy, and did the installation myself. The void left in the dash (where the little storage pocket was), I'm thinking about using as a place to install a switch box. But I'll probably put the little storage pocket back there in the meantime. I'll get an exact model on that stereo when I go back out to my car.

Kenwoods are pretty good, I've always liked Pioneer myself. If you made a switch box, what kind of switches would you install?

That's up in the air still. The switches would be for lights and other accessories, but it's a bit of a long term plan. I want to get either a bull bar or grille guard, because I'm not too keen about mounting lights directly onto the bumper. Whether I made another fuse panel, or just used a fused switch control box, I haven't decided on yet. I have to upgrade the wires running from my alternator before I think about doing any of it, especially if I decide to hook up that five pill linear I have.
I also want to get rid of the roof console, replace the reading lights with some LED lights, and find a way to repurpose the remaining electrical connections. I have zero use for the roof console as is... I know the roads around here well enough to know which direction I'm going in, if I really need to know the outside temperature, I have two apps on my phone for that, I don't carry tissues, I don't keep sunglasses in the car, and I don't need a garage door opener.

So you are talking about doing some upfitter switches, very cool. I've been wanting to do some upfitter switches on my PSD, just haven't had the money or time to really get serious about doing it yet.

Yeah, it'll all come in time.
As for the stereo... the old (after I'd taken the bezel off)

The new...

And a video of it in action...

You just reminded me of something Jeff. I have a single din pioneer head unit sitting on the floor under my desk that I was going to put in my truck, I think I am going to put it in the Blazer. Where did you get your mounting kit and di it come with the proper wiring adapters?

I got the mounting kit from Car Toys. I have an adapter you can have if you want it... I clipped the plugs and direct wired mine.
